Wife decided we’re going on a trip. When she said I could do one of those drive-an-exotic deals, I couldn’t say no.

Ferraris, Lambos, Maseratis... what to chose? How about a Z06. After all, what kind of Corvette nut would I be if I didn’t pick the nastiest (and overheatiest) Stingray in the fleet?

Also, the Corvette is one of the cheaper rides offered at all of the venues that do these sorts of things.

Also, this is the same weekend as the Indy 500 and the Monaco GP, so maybe I can win a nice little parlay bet.

Sounds like fun! I doubt they would let you go hard enough to overheat a Z06 so that might be a good option. In testing at my job, however, we’re not able to get more than a lap or two with a Z06 w/o heat issues :/

Yeah my concern is that this car will have probably already been run pretty hard by other drivers. The track we’re using just opened so the car should be newer than say the car at Dream Racing (at the Speedway) but hopefully it’s not hampered by heating issues by the time I get a ride.

Pick a Ferrari or a Lambo, just so you can say you took one around a track. Tell people you took a Chevy around a track and it’s an “eh” response.

Understandable and don’t think I haven’t thought about it. But I’m not in it to impress people. I want to drive something I want to drive. Also, I wouldn’t call it a Chevy. ;)

How can StingrayJake be seen enjoying one of those bourgeoisie Italian cars. I drive for America. I drive for freedom.

I did it at the Dream Racing place AMA.

I was leaning toward Dream Racing. Getting sim time before going on the actual circuit sounded like a good idea.

A new place just opened south of the strip called Speed Vegas that’s a legit road course (and it’s a bit cheaper). I liked the idea of a real road course over the weird infield course at Dream Racing so that was the decider.

Ya one of the best things of Dream Racing was the fact you are on the inflield of the speedway and there paddock is right in the center of all the stuff in the track. While we were there there was people doing the Petty experience ripping up the track and the Nellis AFB was doing training so it was pretty sweet just to be there.

The sim part was actually the hardest part, I sucked real bad at it but its cool to know they layout of the track before you go.

Ya we are planning another trip down there might have to try the new one!

I imagine the two places at the Speedway are a bit more forgiving with runoff area so I guess I could push a bit more there. The road course will be interesting since I don’t think they have a lot of run-off (if any). Everyone might be a bit slower around there.

I think it’ll be fine. It will have some cool down time between drivers, and I seriously doubt that they would run them at the pace a pro driver would.

Just choose whichever car you really want to cross off your bucket list...even if it’s a few dollars more...and have fun!

I am planning on going to Vegas in August. I was seriously thinking about this, please let us know how it all goes and what car you chose.

Don’t forget to take a gopro or something for us.

They offer on-board video. Customers aren’t allowed to attach their own cameras. If I don’t completely embarass myself, I might share the video here.

I did Exotics Racing, Dream Racing, and World Class Driving (currently Speed Vegas) all in one week. I plan on going back soon because it is a blast. AMA.

Speed Vegas is operating a new track south of the strip. My understanding was they’re completely new.

The management company used to be World Class Driving and they did almost exclusively road tours. They shut that down to open Speed Vegas with a focus on track only.

Sweet. The course looks cool... what little I’ve seen of it.

It’s by far the longest track out of the three with the longest straight too.

That also factored into my decision.

Have you checked out Spring Mountain Motor Resort. It’s just a little bit outside of Vegas, but you can do an actual driving school on track in the new vette’s, z06's, and I think Camaro zr1's. Maybe a bit more expensive but it was fun nonetheless.

Haha yeah. It is definitely “a bit more.” I’d love to do something like that but I won’t have the time or the money. I’m plenty excited to hand over $300 for 5 laps.
